The Members of the Association shall consist of (i) Honorary Members; (ii) Full Members (iii) Associate Members; and (iv) Student Members.
i) Honorary Members
Honorary Members are dignitaries who have made outstanding contributions to the electrical industry and to whom the Association conferred honours. Honorary Members do not have the voting right at the general meetings of the Association, as well as having no right to elect nor be eligible to be elected as Committee Members
ii) Full Members
All graduates who undertook and successfully completed a course and acquires qualification not less than ordinary certificate or equivalent in the Department of Electrical Engineering / Electrical and Electronic Engineering of The Hong Kong Technical College, The Hong Kong Polytechnic or The Hong Kong Polytechnic University who are admitted by the Committee or its designated officer(s) shall be Full Members of the Association. Graduates who do not fulfill this requirement have to be considered for admission by the Committee. Full Members have the voting right at the general meetings of the Association, as well as having the right to elect or to be elected to be Committee Members.
iii) Associate Members
Staff of the Department of Electrical Engineering / Electrical and Electronic Engineering of The Hong Kong Technical College, The Hong Kong Polytechnic or The Hong Kong Polytechnic University who are admitted by the Committee shall be Associate Members of the Association. Associate Members do not have the voting right at the general meetings of the Association, as well as having no right to elect nor be eligible to be elected as Committee Members.
(iv) Student Members
Final year registered students of the Department of Electrical Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University who are admitted by the Committee shall be Student Members of the Association. Such Student Membership shall be automatically terminated when the Student Member ceases to be a registered student of the Department of Electrical Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Student Members do not have the voting right at the general meetings of the Association, as well as having no right to elect nor be eligible to be elected as Committee Members.
